Bay Outlets

The DN200 and DN300 telemetry solutions can be used for remote control and automation of a range of bay outlets for surface irrigation systems. Our mounting options allow the same automation units to be used on various bay outlet systems. Our mounting brackets hold the winches in a horizontal position so that the automation units fit onto a range of outlet designs.
We have designed the solution to allow automation units to be portable and easily moved . This also allows bay outlets to be manually operated at times when there may have been a problem with the automation unit, or if an automation unit is not close by. Each portable automation unit has a 12VDCV motor with socket kit that drops onto a nut which turns the winch. On the main board, there are several plug in modules that allow manual operation of the motor / winch. There is an OPEN/CLOSE, STOP/CALIBRATE and Motor Control Module. The position control allows each unit to be programmed for open and closed positions, current cut off limits and configurable settings.
The programmed parameters in the motor control module allows users to remotely monitor the actual bay outlet position, either as a distance (mm) or as a percentage opened. This data is stored and displayed so the historical operation of each unit can be analysed, which is extremely useful when analysing faults. SMS and / or email alerts can be configured to warn operators if there is a problem such as a unit not opening or closing or failure to open or close fully.
The hardware features are fully integrated into the irrigation scheduling package as a complete system. Pump control, channel level monitoring and wetting front sensors can also be incorporated into the system.
